TEL-ME-MOR Policy Conference

The TEL-ME-MOR Policy Conference is a high level international event to be held in the National Library of Estonia, Tallinn, on 19-20 October 2006.

The conference will focus on the digital future of cultural and scientific heritage, providing a forum for discussion of the latest digital library developments in Europe and in the world, highlighting future research requirements and formulating recommendations as to how the R&D agendas can lead to improving access to our common cultural heritage.

The event will be opened by Mr. Raivo Palmaru, Estonian Minister of Culture. One of the key speakers is Dr. Horst Forster, Director of the European Commission’s Directorate E.

The European Library Newsletter

The European Library Office has published a new issue of newsletter. June 2006 issue summarises the technical developments of The European Library service, featuring also new members joining in July 2006 in the framework of the TEL-ME-MOR project – the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic and Hungary. There is also information on the meetings of the Editorial Working Group and of the Technical Working Group of The European Library.

Web pages on digital libraries

A new web section devoted to digital libraries has been published on the TEL-ME-MOR web site.

The pages provide information and related links regarding major initiatives and developments of digital libraries in Europe and all over the globe. They will be updated from time to time to add new developments and to expand the coverage of countries.
